Family day

Family day is a new holiday and new traditions have been made. I will go over my activities of the day as well as some good old memories pertaining to life with my family... here we go:

*Family Day Quote of 2008*

"Shut up! It's Family Day!" ~ My eldest brother to me and then later in the conversation from my father to the both of us LOL

Activities done on Family Day:

- Daddy and daughter shopping (it worked out for me quite well ;) I hope this will become a tradition! LOL)
- Movie day + eating too much and not doing any work (other than housework to make things easier on the family... makes sense...)
- Going to little Italy to see my father's girlfriend's mother... I really want to learn that kiss on both cheeks thing... which cheek goes first??? God forbid I make a mistake and plant one on a eighty year olds lips... that would be more play than I've had in a long time and may just possibly be detrimental to my sex drive and ego...lmao
- Visit my grandmother in her retirement facility which is a nicer place than most resorts I have been to (minus all of the old people jk jk jk
- Convince my grandmother to call my phone and leave a message of her singing a Latvian lullaby to me so that I may learn it and record it to sing when she passes (kinda morbid? I think so...)
- Go to Swiss Chalet! "A virgin strawberry daquari for the kids" ~ Dad LOL We are all in our mid to late twenties...
- Drop off dad's girlfriend and return home to watch a movie we all agree on (FAT CHANCE! ... One we can all stand... that works ;)
-When everyone was snug asleep in their beds I stayed up and had a screw driver or two with the dogs and watched happy chick flicks until my toes curled, legs tensed and kicked, face hurt from smiling and both puppies were spoiled with hugs and kisses (I know... I'm a huge nerd who will die alone... BUT WITH PUPPIES WHO LOVE ME! lol)

All and all, a pretty sweet family day! The only thing I would have done differently would have been to see my mother. During this trip I make it my mission to somehow go and see her. I love you mom!

Now for some reminiscing about my family and life when with them:

- My father, eldest brother, middle brother and grandmother all have cds... I on the other hand do not. I was though in the Scarborough choir, talent shows, a karaoke connoisseur, shower diva, sing along champ, open mic superstar ect... not to toot my own horn LOL There WILL be a cd out! Just wait! LOL
- My dad sings gospel
- My eldest brother tours with his black metal band
- My grandma sang church Christmas carols in Latvian
- My middle brother did electronica
* Yes they all have other jobs as well ;)
- When my family drives by the Bass Pro Shop in Vaughn, we are all made to salute out the car window LOL
- We all know pretty much every word to the musicals Les Miserables, The Rocky Horror Picture Show and The Labyrinth
- We all know pretty much every word to every Elvis, Beetles or Rod Stewart song ever written
- Just like at my apartment in Ottawa, pictures of my mother are displayed everywhere here. True love never dies!
- Once I went out on my pool deck when taking out the puppies on a visit home from school and I found a 3lb large mouth bass just swimming around the now unchlorinated pool...
- My eldest brother once brought home a bucket with three tiny black kittens soaking wet that he had found abandoned at our old farm. I cleaned them up and took care of them... I miss them
- We used to have a cockatoo (I think it was) that used to say "Shut up Tim... shut up Tim" hahaha I taught him that... my brother HATED it hahahahaha

Alright, it's late and I really want an apple... I'll write back later ;)

P.S Write messages! I need encouragement to keep me interested and entertained! I know people read this as there have been over 120 views so far... put your two cents it! I don't bite hard :P

Don't you just love reminiscing...especially when it comes to family their are always some good memories.

Sounds like a productive family day...the malls in Ottawa were closed so no shopping. For me it was sleeping in, lounging around house spending time with mum watching Bee Movie.

"Bee Movie"? this sounds intriguing...
The malls in Toronto were open... I drove by Yorkmills and Pickering (I think... lol) at least and they looked to be packed.
Do you think the lounging and "Bee Movie" events will now become traditions?

I don't think the Bee Movie will become tradition but the watching a movie and the lounging might.

If I can't make it home next year can I join in? Sounds like good times!
